Samuel O Puckett, Part 2

Laurens Co, SC Will Book A:69 - Will of George Dillard, dated 1846, wife Martha, mentions several heirs including grandson Samuel Puckett - Samuel's parents not given. 

Union Co, SC Will Book C:233 - Will of Martha Dillard, dated 1861, mentions several heirs including grandson Samuel Puckett - Samuel's parents not given.

Estate records of Elizabeth Dillard, Union Co, SC - administered by Seaborn Dillard - states that Nancy Puckett deceased was the sister of Elizabeth Dillard, and that Nancy Puckett was the mother of Samuel Puckett.  1860.

Estate records of Laurens Co, SC - Isaac, Ira & M M Puckett, minors - Sarah Puckett 1853 petition that her 3 minor children, Isaac Puckett 19, Ira Allen Puckett 17, Martha Malissa Puckett 15 are entitled to portions of the estate of their deceased father James Puckett.  Also a guardian bond dated 21 Apr 1853 by Sarah Puckett, Saml O Puckett & William Puckett for Sarah Puckett to be guardian of Isaac Puckett, Ira A Puckett and Martha M Puckett; signed by Sarah Puckett, S O Puckett, J W Puckett.  [Note that Sarah was the mother of Isaac, Ira & Martha, and this was guardianship in a fiduciary sense, to receive her children's inheritance and manage it for them until they were adults (21 years old).]

So, Samuel O Puckett was the son of James Puckett and Nancy Dillard (daughter of George & Martha Puckett).  After the death of Nancy Dillard Puckett, James Puckett married second Sarah Hendricks, daughter Thomas Hendricks.
